Am Now Ready…

Of all the mountains we’ve faced,

This one’s been the most rugged,

Steep contours, and sharp meanderings.

I know it’s lasted much longer,

Than we ever anticipated.

 

We shall get over the top,

to catch a glimpse of another beautiful view,

Of a life and a story we call ‘Ours’

It’d be good if it were simpler,

I have wanted to bury my head in the sand,

And pretend that things are ok,

But I know that would never last.

 

We have walked the whole length,

And have borne all manner of angsts,

Have we not dealt on everything?

It is we that first built it, you and I,

Let’s do it again.

This time with more skill.

 

 Just like you, I want this to stop,

And to have as good as the fore, and more.

I am now ready.

I will  no longer walk facing back,

I will toss the muck out,

Am  set for the next leg,

Of the story that we call ‘ours’

 

Once this cloud has finally passed,

We will look back at this landmark,

And say that we won.

I am sorry for my share of pain,

I love you more than ever.
