Where do missing posts go?

Just when I found a string of words to place on my ‘About’ page, WordPress pulls a prank on me.

I put together a weighty close to 1000 words on my ‘About’ page, to match its new look, and to signify that there is ‘life on mwariland’, and what does WordPress do? When I hit the save button, it takes me to the log in page, as though I wasn’t logged in, in the first place! This, without a warning!

Try as I might, I cannot redo that piece, can anyone ever? It is not funny.

Does anyone know how i can pull out my lost post? Grrrrrrrrrrr!!

At times WordPress pulls a smart one on me too. I sometimes recover the post by reloading the page, when it asks about post-data click ok resend and voila! If that fails i try the back button and at times i am pleasantly surprised to find the post sitting there. As a safeguard though, select the entire post and copy it before hitting save or publish, it has saved me neck severally in case it gets hit by temporary amnesia as its wont to do from time to time.

Pole about that. Ever since I got hit by that bug, not just from WordPress, but all online places where I have to type much, I now compose in a text editor, while saving constantly, then copy and paste when done.

Like 31337 says, copying the entire post before moving out of the page helps. Yahoo especially had such misbehaviour.
