Is this it?

Ok, so the election was flawed.

So, let’s rip the country apart, let the poor kill each other,  burn some, slaughter others and let some die under the bullet. And while at it, focus on one tribe. Burn their houses, kill them, harvest their maize.  In short, let’s do all we can to flatten everything we ever built.

Go on, loot, burn, rape and kill. Do all this and all else you can think of, until RO becomes president.

And then…. what?

Thank God for voices of reason like this one. And make no mistake. Eventually, people will judge for themselves.

Haki Mware am getting really tired of this bunch of people. When I read the news ati ODM had reversed the reversal (don’t know what to call it) I was v v v annoyed. Are they not feeling any pain at the death and destruction?

My question is this, when all Luos and Kikuyus and Kisiis and everyone else were voting for Kibaki in 2002, what did the Kikuyus and all the other people think of Luos then?

Were the Luos trying to steal power for themselves? if they were, why were they voting for a Kikuyu.

What about the Kikuyu’s suffering in the villages? nobody cares about them, the only idiots supporting that travesty of a government are the people living in Cities like Nairobi.

So while people can abuse Luos and Kalenjins for brutalising Kikuyus and Kisiis, other Kikuyus should think of the neglect they have endured for the past five years at the hand of Kibaki.

The improvement in wealth was only felt by the poor. Why can’t people see this? everyone is suffering, everyone including Kikuyus and those supporting Kibaki.

And what has Kibaki done to the poor and hungry people since he bacame president in 2002, what about since 2007? nothing. He hasn’t even had the guts to address the nation.

The sad part is that everyone is suffering yet not everyone wants to fight. Raila is just one person fighting a war that isn’t even his. He’s a rich man who can just decide one day that he’ll retire to his mansion. Who will fight for us then.

We have to realize that when it comes to the truth, everybody decides to care when the president is from their tribe.

If everyone can recognize that what Kibaki has done is wrong and illegal, and by everyone I mean every human being who calls himself or herself Kenyan, they will be able to work together and force the govenment to correct it’s wrong doings.

One final thought, do people in Kenya know that the government is there to attend to their needs and not the other way around?

No one is saying ODM not should pursue justice…but if it involves us going down the path of Rwanda, will it do us any good? As someone said…what’s the use of presiding over a country in ashes?

@Effy, I like your argument, it makes sense. Except when you bring in the issue of tribe. I do not want to pre-empt a post that is cooking in my mind, but the short of it is that not all Kikuyu’s voted for Kibaki. I wish all well-informed Kenyans could seperate the issue of good governance from the issue of tribe. True, they may be inter-twined by virtue of those currently governing coming from a particular tribe. But note that this clique does not represent the views of 22% of Kenyan population that makes up the Kikuyu people. If anything, the problem that Kenya is grappling with is of slightly complicated nature-in my opinion.

  5. seasons and reasons Says:

This issue has nothing to do with the flawed election. Its clear that the killings were planned long before the election. My opinion is even if the election was not flawed and RO won, Kyuks would have been killed as the ‘instructions’ were already out to push them out of their farms.

The question you have asked is pertinent, even if Kibaki stepped down and RO takes over, he would be taking over a torn country and may not be able to govern.

My opinion; Fresh elections with both of them ineligible to run
